Day to Night Minimalistic Sequin
Tis' the holiday season and all of its festive wear. With the sparkles and all of its shine, I decided to style these festive looks with an everyday approach. So here it is, a how to style your holiday wear series.
For all my corporate ladies out there, here is my not so minimalistic sequin look with a pop of color to turn heads in the office - but in a good way. In this outfit, you are rocking all of your basic essentials for an office look but the key is in the details. The textures and patterns are all things that you can experiment with without sacrificing your 9 - 5 look.
You can see that I have layered a essential yet basic white button up with a jeweled necklace under a tinseled infused gray sweater that I tied to somewhat keep my shape. Then, I have some black glittery tights with a basic, high waisted seqiun skirt. All of these items are on the neutral spectrum of the color scale so it is nothing flashy to wear to work but you are still showing some creativity in your layering, patterns and details.
Now the part where you can show some creativity are your shoes! This is where you can take some major risks with color and styles. Since we are in the middle of winter, I opted for some calf booties with a block heel to make running errands and the long hours more comfortable. These babies have been my obsession ever since I first bought them two months ago. The pop of color elevates any outfit and sort of goes with everything! Trust me on this.
Bonus to this 9 - 5 outfit, you can go out right after those long hours! All you need to do is strip off some layers and you are happy hour ready - or keep them on. Whichever look the weather permits.
So have some fun and make use of your wardrobe!
